米国科学振興協会（American Association for the Advancement of Science：AAAS）は1月31日、2022年選出のAAASフェロー505人を発表した。科学コミュニティにおいて最も威厳があり栄誉とされるAAASフェローに今回選出された者には、①ハッブル宇宙望遠鏡（Hubble Space Telescope）科学ミッションの主導者、②疫病や公衆衛生上の世界的課題のモデル作成・分析実施者、③進化生物学分野及び幅広い科学・技術・工学・数学コミュニティにおいて倫理的行動・包摂性・個人の安全を改善する政策策定者、などが含まれる。
